Probiotic ferments

Probiotic ferments are bioactive substances obtained through the fermentation process with microorganisms (e.g. Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium). They are used in cosmetics in the form of lysates, filtrates or extracts, which contain beneficial metabolites (peptides, enzymes, polysaccharides, vitamins).

These enzymes act as “smart ingredients” that regulate the skin’s microbiome, strengthen the skin’s barrier, and stimulate natural renewal processes. They are gentle yet highly effective, which is why they are often used in formulations for sensitive, dry, or problematic skin.

  • Skin microbiome balance – Enzymes help maintain a healthy balance between beneficial and harmful microorganisms on the skin.
  • Strengthening the skin barrier – increase the synthesis of ceramides, which improve the skin's protective function and reduce transepidermal water loss.
  • Soothing sensitive skin – they reduce redness, itching and irritation, so they are suitable for skin problems such as dermatitis, eczema or rosacea.
  • Deep hydration – they promote moisture retention in the skin and increase its elasticity.
  • Anti-aging effect – due to peptide synthesis and antioxidant activity, they contribute to the reduction of fine wrinkles and better skin tone.
  • Supporting a healthy scalp – regulate the scalp microbiome, reduce itching, dandruff and inflammation.
  • Strengthening hair follicles – they promote regeneration and improve the environment for hair growth.
  • Hydration and protection – fermented extracts increase scalp moisture and protect against environmental stressors.
  • Softer and more flexible hair – amino acids and peptides make hair less brittle, smoother and shinier.
